The Bellefonte Red Raiders win big game at home versus the Altoona Mountain Lions 5/2/2009

The Red Raiders of Bellefonte started the game in the hole. The Raiders gave up 6 runs in first 2 innings and had 5 fielding errors against the Altoona Mountain Lions. The Lions first 4 batters all scored runs in the first with Helsel starting the game with a double. Smithmyer followed it up with a walk, while Adams had a single and Sneed a sac. Walters had 2 RBIs for the Lions in the first with a single to left and help with an error fielding the ball. The Raiders would get to runs back in the bottom of the inning. Seth Tressler started it off, scoring on a triple by Matt Fisher. Fisher added the second run on a errand throw to first in an attempt to pick off Bryant James. The Lion's Smithmyer and McDonald would add 2 more runs in the second. The Raiders would get back on the board in the third. Fisher started the inning with a walk and was followed by a Home run from James. The Raiders would add 1 more run in the bottom of the 4th inning with a Sacrifice fly by Matt Watson to score Seth Tressler and tie it up at 6. The Altoona Lions would jump into the lead again with a solo Home run from Adams in the top of the 6th inning. The Raiders, not giving up brought the bats out one last time. Musser started the inning with a walk and Tressler followed with a single. Watson would sacrifice to put the runners in position and Fisher was intentionally walked to load the bases. This brought up James whom the Lions apparently forgot they gave up a home run to earlier. With the bases loaded James launched a deep shot and scored 3 more runs on a triple, bringing James' RBI total to 5. The Raiders Seth Tressler who came in to relieve Cole McClarren in the 6th, held on for the win. Final: Bellefonte 9 Altoona 7
