The Bald Eagles repay the Bellefonte Red Raiders 5/9/09

The Eagles starting pitcher A.J. Robinson lead his team both on the mound and at the plate to a big win over rival Bellefonte. A.J. Robinson, with a good defense behind, kept the Raiders to 3 and out over the first 3 innings. The Eagles, a bit more patient at the bat than they were during the last meeting, had a different story.

First on base for the Eagles was Derek Jabco who was hit by the Raiders starting pitcher Cole McClarren. Marcus Kotzur advanced Jabco and reached first himself on an infield error by Raiders shortstop Seth Tressler. The Eagles next batter, Robinson would hit put the team on the board with a 3 run homerun. After Derek Knoll's ground out Joe Pillot walked. With Pillot on first Tyler Woomer would have the Eagles 2nd homerun of the inning and put the Eagles up 5 to 0 in the 1st inning.

The Eagles bats stayed hot into the 2nd inning. Quick started the inning with a single to right and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Evan Gettig. Jabco would bring Quick home with an RBI single to right. Jabco stole second and advance to 3rd base on an error and then scored another run for the Eagles with a single by Noll. At the end of 2 the Eagles lead 7-0

The Raiders started the 3rd with a walk but it would turn into a double play when Kline line drived to the Ealges 3rd baseman Etters who made a quick throw to first to make the double play on the Raiders runner. The Eagles would add 1 more run in the bottom of the inning when Tyler Woomer scored on an errand throw during an attempt by the Raiders to turn a double play.

Seth Tressler would get the first hit of the game for the Raiders leading off in the 4th. Watson would pop fly to center and Fisher hit a hard shot to the Eagles shortstop Noll who made the tough throw for the second out of the inning. A.J. Robinson would retire the last batter himself for his 4th strikeout of the game. With the Eagle circling above the field, with the smell of blood in the air, (and a 10 run rule win in site) brought the bats back out for the bottom of the inning. Robinson started the inning with a single. Noll reached on a fielders choice and was then brought home when Joe Pillot hit the Eagles' 3rd homerun of the game. The Eagles would add 1 more to make it an 11-0 lead going into the 5th.

With the help of a big double play the Eagles retired the Raiders in 3 batters and win 11-0 over the Raiders.
